PeopleTek's Career Transition Program and Outplacement Services offer individuals the best possible opportunity for making their job more professional and easier from the start. Each participant is offered the opportunity to participate in a process to prepare for their job search. The process provides tools, tips, recommendations by experienced Career Transition Consultants for your resume and interview. Each of you can choose to utilize the services that best suit your needs either from email, online, telephone or any combination of approaches. You have an opportunity to select the services that meet your specific needs the best.
Career Transition Program Services Description
- Webinars: These are virtually facilitated learning sessions conducted over the telephone by a professional Career Transition Consultant. There are a series of 5 sessions to choose from. (sessions will be held in groups of 15 max participants).
- Resume Tips and Strategies- This webinar focuses on building a successful resume. Different templates, ways to organize and present experiences and qualifications are provided.
- Creating a Target Market Plan- Once your resume is created it is important that you know where to send it and how to target a particular market that will meet your needs best. The participants will create a marketing plan targeted on specific organizations based on key criteria chosen by your personal requirements.
- Networking for Success- The act of Networking and tools to do it are very important. Most individuals get their new job from people they already know or relationships they build. The participant will learn what does networking really mean and when and how do it to get the results you want.
- Interviewing Skills- You need to be prepared for the interview and so the do's and don'ts of the interview are very important to understand. The participant will learn techniques to build a plan around what works and what doesn't. Successful strategies which will include questions that you may be asked and how to answer them. Questions you want to ask to ensure that this is the right career opportunity for you, and what you absolutely should not do in an interview.
- Negotiation Skills- Well you've got them hooked, now is the time to reel them in at the rate that gets you the most. What to say in order to influence the decision maker. Now you have the offer - How do you negotiate?
- One-On-One- Participants will speak directly with a Transition Consultant about their situation and be provided feedback to approach. (Max 4 Sessions per participant).
- Online and Email Support- Participants will be requested to send in the information about their resume and interview responses and provided feedback via email. These include work experience stories and email discussion of how they will be presented.
- Online Assessment Tool- 1 Online Skills Assessment Tool (MBTI Report or DISC, or Strong Interest. Includes Webinar Interpretation (50 Participant online instruments and Webinar 1 Instrument for each person). These tools help the participant understand their strengths and how they can be understood discussed professionally with prospective employers. Some of the assessments can assist the participant with the types of jobs they are applying and is this a good "fit" based on the style result.
- Other- The participant is provided tools such as Job Search materials containing job search how-to's and examples. Reference tools that include *** Articles, Materials, Online Web Site Support for Resume, Interview and Job Search Best Practices.
