Critical Thinking

Why is critical thinking so important in today's
workplace? 

Most organizations have a dynamic, high volume event
environment. In any given day, a myriad of problems
will arise.

How can we identify the critical ones, weed out the
important from the mundane and ensure we are spending
our dollars and utilizing our time most efficiently and
in the most cost beneficial manner?

Most people need to make quick, and well thought-out,
decisions. A snap decision on a seemingly innocuous
problem may whirlwind into a major disaster.

We need to look beyond the immediate problem and
conduct root cause and trend analysis. If we do not
identify the source of the problem, we are probably
doomed to keep repeating it.

Most organizations are interrelated in some way. If
we implement solutions to problems without considering
these relationships, we may make the original situation
worse and raise our cost of doing business.
